So far the only thing that’s a little annoying about the Spotify mix feature is that it’s mobile-only.

Apple Music is the same (from what I’ve seen online?) where it’s only on iOS and not on desktop. Why??

OH? Just tried Spotify’s “Mix” feature in playlist, it’s actually really sick. It’s kinda like what Apple has done with Apple Music in iOS 26 with the auto fade, but you can edit it yourself too!!

Not sure how AirPods would work on Linux normally, but found this cool app on GitHub that lets you see the battery %, and pause music on it when an AirPod is removed, and w the Pros lets you use the ANC stuff :D - works pretty well so far with my regular AirPods 2

YouTube and YouTube music’s auto download thing is super nice. Didn’t realise YT did it too, just noticed as I’m now downloading vids in advance for tmrw when I’m offline. Should be a free feature imho.

As Spotify are rolling out this new age verification thing, possibly banning accounts that don’t follow this(?), I think it’s a good reminder to have your own copies of music.

Don’t get me wrong I use Spotify a lot, but I’ve also been trying to use my old iPods more 😍

rip. iOS 26 beta 3 is waaaaaaaay less transparent. It’s more readable, ik, but I loved beta 1 & 2 - beta 3 is just making them less clear. Even a slider to “choose your translucency” would be nice.

i still think the best way to listen to music, play a game, etc.. is to have your OWN files. there’s something satisfying about having all the mp3s on your computer/phone or whatever and just pick a music player.. no geostrictions or enshittifcation possible!

YouTube music’s algorithm is surprisingly good.. I’m just leaving it on and it’s playing decent songs I’ve not heard before. I guess unsurprising since it probably plugs into my YouTube history that’s built up over years.

I don’t use YT Music, but I joined a friend’s Google family group bc he had an extra slot. It includes YT Music/Premium. the Offline mixtape feature is cool.

It seems like overnight it looks at what you’re listening to most and downloads 250 songs it thinks you like most!! Spotify should copy.

I’m curious how much charge I could save on my iPhone if I didn’t rely on it for everything. I might charge my iPod later to use that for music. That along with using my real camera over the iPhone one… hmm 🤔

Realistically, I won’t use the iPod instead of my iPhone bc you need to have songs on it before, but I’m already using my Canon PowerShot camera instead of my iPhone camera in most cases, so we’ll see!

no matter what people think of the ai music, i think google’s whole stage is pretty cool (even tho it’s not exactly “new”) and i LOVE how they actually do live events unlike Apple’s prerecorded ones.. although i can’t remember how much of this is pre-recorded vs a live demo.
