From the Breaking The Bird documentary (BBC/CNN) + seeing Tweets about it & talks from former Tweeps, it seems like places like Turkey and India had govs that would frequently reach out to Twitter in the past (even in the early years) to request account/tweet takedowns.. 5/6

Generally, this is why Nostr’s model is better, where there’s no central control, but then that’s attracted a very bitcoin-heavy audience, which I’m not a fan of.
