@0xtiago_ @rrespectorr @j4ck nope. most 3rd party bluesky clients still connect to Bluesky PBC’s AppView. if bluesky bans someone from there (e.g. Link, https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:63hvnyjvqi2nzzcsjgnry5we) then it’ll fail to load in any third party client that uses their AppView.
jack
my quick posts!
https://posts.j4ck.xyz/@0xtiago_ @rrespectorr @j4ck other appview (which uses their own european relay)
if bluesky were to start banning users, you could login to W and still see these users’ content as if nothing happened.
@0xtiago_ @rrespectorr in theory I’d be able to login to my regular @j4ck.xyz account and not have to do that. only new signups for THEIR PDS would
@0xtiago_ @rrespectorr also provides redundancy. Bsky users could login to their client with their regular Bsky acc and be connected to the “W” AppView
@0xtiago_ @rrespectorr no? it’s giving you options. e.g. using proton mail instead of gmail
@0xtiago_ @rrespectorr human verification stuff is bad, but they can, and probably will, bootstrap off of the bsky connections so it’s just like an extension of bluesky but on their own infrastructure - like blacksky
@luciascarlet it’s true… and idk what to think of it!
@luciascarlet omg need to try
@0xtiago_ @oops4041555 fr lmao, this is dumb asf
@rrespectorr @0xtiago_ true, forgot about that
