I’m still super grateful though, and totally wouldn’t mind using this in the end, it’s still a huge upgrade from my previous craptop lol!

If not I’ll consider whether I return this, and try spend the money on the actual T14 Gen 2 (more upgradeable) or keep this machine with soldered RAM + a slightly worse CPU, but a thinner build. The listing isn’t what we received tho.

It also came with the i7-1165G7 CLPU, which is slightly worse. I can still upgrade the internal SSD, however.

Told my parents about this, and I think we’re gonna try contact the seller from Amazon and see if they sent the wrong unit(?)

SO I found an Amazon renewed listing for a Thinkpad T14 Gen 2, with a i7-1185G7 CPU, 16GB/512GB. This one that shipped is the T14s (slim edition) which has non-upgradeable RAM, so can’t put in the 16 from my old laptop.
